Description

Constructed in 1874, Lenape Hall, has long been an important landmark, with its clock on the diagonal facade at the corner of State and Main Streets. On the National Register of Historic Places. This building has served many purposes including a public market, pharmacy, telephone company, 800 seat auditorium, town hall bowling alley, various stores, offices and apartments. Having fallen behind in repairs, Happ Contractors, Inc. was contracted for a complete interior renovation which was performed in 1986, including elevator, fire stair tower, heating, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing for five (5)stores, one (1) office and thirteen (13) apartments. The owner received federal tax credits for Happ's historic preservation work on the facade.
